Join Our Team
This is what a day at Novak Lock & Security actually looks like: you show up in a marked truck, in uniform, with the tools to do the job and a written price ready before you touch anything. You work on residential deadbolts, commercial access control, high-security cylinders, automotive transponder keys – the full range. When you leave, you hand the customer a documented photo record and a completed invoice that matches the number they were given on the phone. No bait-and-switch. No awkward doorstep negotiation. The company was built in 2002 on one rule – the price doesn’t change when you arrive – and that rule makes the work cleaner for everyone, including you.
Who We’re Looking For
- Residential Locksmith Technician – Someone who reads a door frame before they pick a lock set, and who knows the difference between a Kwikset Grade 3 and a Schlage B-series without being told.
- Commercial Locksmith Technician – A technician comfortable with panic hardware, master key systems, and access control installs in office and retail environments where downtime costs someone money.
- Automotive Locksmith / Key Programmer – A detail-oriented person who doesn’t get rattled when a transponder system says one thing and the car says another.
- Lock Installer & Rekeying Specialist – Someone precise and fast who takes satisfaction in a deadbolt that’s plumb, a cylinder that turns smoothly, and a job that doesn’t need a callback.
- Emergency Response Technician – A calm, professional person who does their best work at inconvenient hours and understands that the customer on the other side of a locked door is already stressed.
- Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative – A clear communicator who can quote a firm price on the phone, manage a live job board, and make a locked-out customer feel like someone capable is handling it.
What We Offer

Real Training and a Path Forward
We don’t hand you a van and wish you luck. New technicians work alongside experienced leads, learning the trade the way it should be learned – on real jobs, with real feedback. The path from apprentice to lead tech is documented, not vague, and we work with high-security brands like Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, and Abloy that are worth knowing how to service properly.
Work You Can Stand Behind
The Haven Standard governs every job: written price before you start, documented photo record when you finish, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every installation and service call. When the work is done correctly from the start – and the systems are designed to make that the default – you don’t spend your afternoons fielding angry callbacks. That’s not just better for customers; it makes your day more predictable.
A National Brand, a Local Crew
Novak operates across 33 states with local crews who know their markets. You’re not a number in a call center. You’re part of a small, local team that happens to have factory-authorized access to premium lock brands, a documentation system that protects you as much as the customer, and a dispatch operation staffed by real people around the clock. The national infrastructure exists to back you up, not to manage you from a distance.
Steady, Year-Round Demand
Locks break in January. Lockouts happen at midnight on a Wednesday. Move-ins generate rekey calls every weekend. Across the residential, commercial, and automotive services we offer, demand doesn’t have an off-season – and that kind of work consistency matters when you’re building a career rather than filling gaps between other jobs.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve spent years doing finish carpentry, HVAC installation, auto mechanics, or any skilled trade where the work is hands-on and the margin for error is small, you already have more relevant experience than you think. Attention to door frame tolerances, the discipline to read before you cut, the ability to explain to a customer what you found and what it costs – those things transfer directly.
What we teach: the lock brands, the cylinder types, the key systems, the documentation procedure, and The Haven Standard protocols that govern how every job is run. The first months are structured. You shadow, you assist, you handle progressively more complex jobs as your confidence and the lead tech’s confidence in you both grow. We’re not looking for perfect – we’re looking for careful, honest, and good with their hands. The rest is trainable.
How to Apply

Call us at (331) 310-8471 or use the form below. Tell us where you’re based, what you’ve worked on – trades, tools, lock brands if applicable – and when you’re available to start. Hiring is handled locally, through the Novak crew nearest to you, so geographic availability is the first thing we’ll confirm. There’s no lengthy process to start the conversation – just tell us about yourself.
