Available Franchise Territories
Novak Lock & Security is opening protected territories across twelve states, and the first operator in each market gets something money cannot buy later: the whole map. When you claim a territory, you own the exclusive right to operate under the Novak name and The Haven Standard within defined boundaries. No other Novak operator can market, advertise, or dispatch into your area. Your first-mover position means you build the local reputation, own the search results, and set the service benchmark before anyone else gets a chance. In locksmithing, trust compounds. The operator who gets there first and documents every job properly tends to keep the customer for a decade.
Open Markets
These states currently have open territory for qualified operators. Each market below has unmet demand for documented, written-price locksmith work:
- Texas – explosive housing growth in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin means thousands of new doors and locks every month, with rekey demand following every real estate closing.
- Florida – high turnover in residential and rental properties drives constant rekey and lock replacement volume, plus a steady stream of snowbird lockouts each winter.
- California – dense metro cores and affluent inner suburbs where high-security hardware like Medeco and Mul-T-Lock is the standard ask, not the upgrade.
- Georgia – Atlanta’s suburban ring keeps expanding, and every new build means a fresh crop of entry-grade locks that homeowners immediately want upgraded.
- North Carolina – the Triangle and Charlotte metros are adding households faster than locksmith capacity, especially for same-day rekey and smart lock installation.
- Arizona – extreme heat destroys lock internals faster than almost anywhere in the country; spring and deadbolt failures are a recurring repair economy.
- Tennessee – Nashville and surrounding counties combine rapid construction with a strong small-business climate and low regulatory friction for new operators.
- Ohio – older housing stock in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati means worn cylinders, misaligned strikes, and locks installed decades before modern security standards.
- Pennsylvania – Philadelphia row homes and Pittsburgh’s aging inventory create consistent demand for mortise lock work that big-box hardware stores cannot service.
- Colorado – front-range markets with high property values and security-conscious buyers who want documented work and premium hardware.
- Washington – Seattle and Tacoma’s tech workforce expects smart lock integration, and they read reviews carefully before calling anyone.
- Virginia – Northern Virginia’s defense and tech economy supports a population that wants licensed, background-checked technicians and written records on every visit.
How Territories Work

A Novak territory is a protected geographic boundary. It can be a county, a cluster of zip codes, or a defined metro area depending on population density and service demand. When you are awarded a territory, it is yours exclusively. No other Novak operator can take a call, run an ad, or dispatch a truck inside your lines. That exclusivity is the foundation of the model, and it is written into your agreement, not implied.
Claiming a territory starts with a conversation. We review your background, your capacity, and the market you are targeting. We look at whether the territory can support the volume you need. Then we reserve it while we complete qualification. Once your agreement is signed, the territory is locked. The reservation process is straightforward, but it is not instant. We do not award territories on a first-call, first-served basis. We award them to operators who can actually run the standard.
What you get with the territory is the operating system, not just a name. The dispatcher quotes a firm price on the phone, and the technician is not permitted to change it on the doorstep. Every job leaves a documented photo record. Every technician is background-checked and uniformed. Every call is answered by a live person, 24/7. That is the Novak model, unchanged since 2002, and your territory runs on it from day one.
The local business is yours. Your license, your trucks, your neighbors. What we contribute is The Haven Standard, the documentation system that proves the work was done right, and the buying power that keeps your hardware pricing honest. You are independently owned and operated. You carry the Novak name because a real name on the van is the whole argument in this trade.
